What do you think of Google's operating system, Google Chrome OS? I tried a developer build on a USB and it was alright. Bit slow but mostly because it being on a USB.

Here's what the interface looks like

It is supposedly to be released on November 11th.

My opinon of it is confusing sort of in a way because the browser and the OS is very much alike, and also the desktop looks as if it's only purpose is google LOL

You don't get the point Yanz in it's supposed to be like that...

If you look at Ubuntu Netbook these new netbook operating systems are built for netbooks to work at the quickest possible pace.

Google have jumped onto this, and using Linux you can view the internet in (IMO) the best operating system out there to date and you can also edit your Microsoft Office documents because of Googles cleaver picking around and Microsofts stupid errors which allow you to make documents via hotmail.

This will be the way forward for all netbooks. You can have multiple screens (on one screen) and it's said to increase battery life by 40% than that of a Windows OS. No Linux knowledge needed either.

Oh and did I mention the OS itself is free? In 5/6 years every Netbook with be Google operated.

I disagree with that because meany companies like Dell use Windows as its widely popular, if you ask Dell for a linux build they will charge more because they are going out of their way to personally install the OS where as all the Windows OS's are ghosted requiring less work.
A lot of business use windows and netbooks target business users so why would they switch to a different OS when they are comfortable with Windows and when everybody else is on Windows?

I might be proven wrong with this and I hope I am. Hopefully we will see the world all migrating to a different OS other than Windows.

I think it will be pretty cool, plus I'm headed to Google IO 2011 so I'm sure I'll be seeing some interesting applications of it there.

Wow.. 2 years of free Wi-Fi .

This is looking pretty amazing. Haven't been keeping up with the OS, although I use Chrome .

The thing I want to know: Can it be compared with windows?

You cant compare mobile operating systems with a full scale corporate one. That's just unfair.

We're talking about Google Chrome OS, not Mobile OS's.

Unless there is some massive impact of glitchification causing me to post in the wrong thread while appearing to look like it's been posted in the right thread - then please look through the thread again.

Also: if that was the case, I wouldn't have seen your response.
