In essence Ben, yes. Thats if you have no interest in it. It's less fun when your not going to be paid for your services. I just don't get why all the games on these forums expect to find volunteers for all their needs. I mean if it's clear that you don't have the money to pay people, your better off not making a game at all. Money is a very importanat aspect of game creation. Thats unless of course you offer part ownership in exchange for services

Guys, it's really not up for debate. It's their requirements. If you disagree, then don't apply; look the other way.

That being said, back on topic please, and good luck to all that apply!

Actually, reading the post myself. Which I failed to do when I last posted. Perl is not an requirement, nor needed for the 'Community Forum development'? I think I mixed him up, when I was creating little perl scripts to access the application server. My fault.

Anyways,

Requirements:

+ vBulletin experience is a must.
+ PHP and basic CSS.
+ Basic actionScript knowledge for adding flash navigation.

Optional Knowledge of:

+ AJAX and javaScript
+ XML, PERL-CGI, anything less so needed.
+ Vbscript

Maybe, that's what he meant to say?

As to one whom wishes to apply, the benefits you will receive is not just only volunteer. You will get moved up later down the road to make actual money. However, it's not that we do not have the money. It's rather the point of showing you that you can produce something without no funds what-so-ever!

As a developer of the community forum, you will be represented as an moderator. You will receive all benefits of a moderator, as well as, future access to the pre-released testbench (client).

May sound like its not much at all. It's up to you, if you wish to move forward, and make the move to join us. Then welcome aboard. If not, so be it.

Sorry, if that sounded rather mean. Just wanted to clear things up, as these non-topic forums get on my nerves.

Well, I wish I had vb experiences/skin making talent. Just PHP and HTML knowledge, that's it.

Good luck to all who applies

Would this include creating forum images? Or will the images be given to us for any style you would like to use?

Sounds fun.
#12
That's correct, Homerun! We will provide the images to use. However, things will be provided slowly.
#13
Hope everything goes well, good luck to all whom apply!
#14
No idea why you'd need Perl or ActionScript skills when working with vB. Good luck anyway.

PERL is much like PHP in many ways along with C but we are looking for someone whom has a good understanding of both to help create much more dynamic web site interfaces. At this time we are only looking for two persons to develop the forum but later on they will likely be helping create the website.

I dont think many people know all of that, i do but my PERL is weak, and web developing is boring.
