This is for all those AS3/Flash/AIR users out there who have heard of the new Stage3D APIs (hardware accelerated 3D graphics in Flash.. oh yeah ) but don't have the technical know how to actually use it or like the sound of hardware acceleration but would rather use it for 2D projects instead of 3D.

Introducing The Starling Framework!
I'd like to introduce you guys to Starling! The open source, hardware accelerated, 2D game engine for Flash! Essentially what it allows you to do is use custom versions of the Sprite, DisplayObject etc classes and functions to render all your 2D content using the GPU! There are some extra helper functions and methods for really squeezing out the power, but if you're familiar with the basic things like addChild() and the Sprite class then this framework allows you to go about your day as normal.. but in super awesome hardware accelerated style!

To find out more, or to try out the demo and experience just how much faster your applications can be, check out http://gamua.com/starling/ or click here!
