Hey guys,
So i was wondering what peoples opinions truly are on current MMOCC games and which ones you think are still viable, have a future and for what reasons, and which ones are long gone or going down the drain.
Here is what i can gather after being away from this market for a while and now obviously coming back.
Obviously Habbo is a given, currently the most successful mmocc on the market despite many of its older members not liking the changes, the fact is habbo is now obviously aiming at a much younger market. will be around for a while. (I'm also going to wave off other mmocc's such as club penguin and focus mainly on small mmocc's who have been or are active in the community)
the 4 main featured MMOCC's on this forum seem to be Kynto, ilDom, bitty bay and Lasuni.
As far as i can tell Kynto is dead and ildom, bittybay, and Lasuni are all currently running and seemingly have similar online user counts, under 40 users online and many of them AFK.
Bittybay to me seems the most viable to catch on, possibly the most active, and it seems like a solid game is almost there.
ilDom while it seems to have some good active design ideas behind it that have been implemented well enough but seems to be presented badly and needs some serious thinking, design and development behind it if they want to be successful.
Lasuni seems to have made the mistake of using an outdated technology and is currently now losing much time trying to update their client however has some potential, seems they need to finish a viable product and take a serious look at their marketing strategy.
Out of the other games on this forum the only other i can seem to detect any activity with is PortGalaxy, yugitoon and slime city.
PortGalaxy seems to have created a client started business and realised they needed to change direction, brave move but the drastic change could work in their favour i guess, it depends how they swing their 3D client... too early for me to tell at the moment.
Yugitoon seems to be swinging wildly at ideas, hoping to see any progress in future.
and slime city is a hobby project, will not be a viable game but if LasuniColin goes through with it could learn enough to move onto something that will, I'm hoping he will.
Aside from that i see little other progress, what are your thoughts? i could be totally wrong about allot of this, but this is what i see. anyone have anymore in-depth knowledge other opinions? speak out.
