Most of the concept is explained on my forum dedicated for Pxl Island here:

The main idea is that the community submits ideas and graphics to be implemented into the game, and I do all the coding.
I hope to have a well rounded balanced game to be liked by everyone - made by everyone.
Everything that goes on that is related to the game will be posted on the forums.
I update the live client whenever I feel I have added enough for it to be worth playing.
Anyway, I come here looking for Pixel Artists willing to contribute to the game, I have done quite a bit of it on my own but my thing is programming - I'm horrible with graphics. You can see what I've done by logging into the client: all links are on the forum.

I can only get to a Pxl building that doesn't do anything when I click, is that normal?

Yeah, that's all the progress that has been released at the moment, (that is only the first release) you can check the progress post on my forum to see what progress I have made.
I'm stuck at designing avatars to be used - I have a friend that can do it, but he's quite busy, so I'm going to try to whip something up later today.

v002 is online.
The updates are as follows:
- Enter Pxl Office in Cyrillian City
- Load Pxl Office Room
- Drag Pxl Office Room with mouse
- Cyrillian City on the Island View has a proper graphic
- Fonts changed to Volter
- Menu bar displays username
- Loading logo changed
- Can press enter to login

I'd consider you choosing a different font. Why? Volter is very well known for the previous versions of Habbo Hotel and using this could send some trolls your way.
