Merry Christmas!

Thought I'd like to share some festive cheer in the forum and so I am wishing everyone a very happy christmas! So.. It's christmas eve, got anything special planned? Doing some last minute shopping? Post anything christmas related here

As for me, I helped my parents out with some last minute shopping yesterday and it was terrible! Everything we done seemed to go wrong and it was just so busy! It was great in the end though when I went with my dad to pick up a Shih Tzu for christmas, kind of strange because it was born in a stable like jesus.. and it's christmas.. XD

Still have snow on the ground and I'm hoping it stays there so we can have a white christmas since a long time ago! I don't like the ice though, our car slipped on it twice yesterday when picking up the dog and we got stuck in the ice too..

Mmmmmm exaggerated biblical texts It doesn't actually say in the Bible that Jesus was born in a stable, or on december for that matter.

Moving on from religious criticism (Christianity stole Christmas from the pagans <3), I don't have much planned nor do I feel that festive this year. Not sure why, I blame the stress of the economic climate!

Mmmmmm exaggerated biblical texts It doesn't actually say in the Bible that Jesus was born in a stable, or on december for that matter.

Moving on from religious criticism (Christianity stole Christmas from the pagans <3), I don't have much planned nor do I feel that festive this year. Not sure why, I blame the stress of the economic climate!

I actually find that highly offensive, Christmas was not stolen from the pagans.

Tbh, the economic climate shouldn't affect you at all at your age.

The Pagan festival of Saturnalia/Festivus was taken by the Christians and modified. Lots of Christian holidays/beliefs are stolen from other religions. There is nothing in the Bible that states that Jesus was born on December 25th, infact science tells us that he was most likely born in the summer time just before autumn. Feel free to quote where it says that Jesus was born on December 25th.

The economic climate can effect everybody, I've found it hard this year to get any money from anything. Especially work, even outside of the internet. Here is a quote I found from a quick Google search:

Who even cares? Everybody is welcome to their own beliefs. Christmas is a time for giving, family and happiness . A brief period where everybody can try to forget economic strains and relax.

Exactly, I just thought Caketroll and Shadow should know the origins of my favourite festival. Personally I don't think we should say Merry Christmas.

It should be; Happy non-denomination winter festival celebration (that was a joke). I'm going to see my family tonight and my dad's side on boxing day since my parents split. Suppose it's alright that I technically get two Christmases, but unfortunately not two dinners Can't wait for the pigs in blankets!

As for my beliefs, I don't believe in organized religion as such. Each religion has their weak and strong points, but I cant find one that's right. I believe in some form of higher power or divine entity, but no idea which cult to follow. I don't like Christianity's history, and I find the church to be very very narrow minded. I still celebrate holidays such as Christmas and Easter, but that's because of where I live. I don't care what people believe, I just don't like it when people try and convince me to believe that, or get their religion wrong.

I feel like a grinch, I've never really been much into christmas but this year I just started hating it, I think is more that people start asking you for presents and it's not about giving anymore ( well it's allways been about spending ), so this year I decided to give $2 chocolate bars to guys and $4 cheap body lotions for girls.
The only things i find good about the day is the food and spending it with my family.

Well I only put that because that's what I've seen in Nativity plays and stuff.. I'm not actually a religious person and I don't believe in god/jesus..

Let's not get into a religious argument. Everyone is welcome to their own beliefs and let's leave it at that.
