The IE9 BETA was released at 6.30pm (40 mins ago as I write this) and what a difference, it's faster, and so much smoother! I love it. It has restored my faith in IE, goodbye Firefox.

Did you know? 79% of the time for IE being slow is because of addons, and IE9 knows when it's being slow, you can open millions of tabs super fast aswell.

It supports HTML5 with full hardware acceleration... gets 95/100 on ACID3 tests, and this is IE, it's better, much better. I recommend testing it

This thread got me to have a look at IE 9 and I've got to say; Bye bye firefox!
It really is an eye opener, it's fast and has a nice design. Good job IE!

Does it overwrite the default IE8 installation or is it installed seperately?

It overwrites it lol.. :/ I lost IE8 lol

I don't like not having toolbars along the top! plus I would preffer the tabs to be underneath the url bar or above it and not to the side.
Havn't played around enought to see if I can change the look and feel yet so can't give a full honest opinion.

Apart from that seems to run smoothly (but again, another browser to test websites in, as if theres wasn't enough already!).

Yes! Good job at ripping off chrome! Wouldn't be suprised if it was Chrome, just renamed. Chrome is opensource so...

Sam, have you looked at Firefox 4 recently? It looks more like Chrome than IE does.

According to my laptop, I've not even got IE8, lol. I guess it's because I use Chrome.
