Most of the time campus police are required to have taken the BLET course and have two years of law enforcement experience thats why I was asking if you have taken the BLET.

In Florida to be campus police you just need to be FDLE certified as a Police Officer. I'm currently going through this process so I can actually become a sworn officer, but at the moment I only have rights on-campus. I can also detain, but not arrest. We also don't carry lethal use-of-force.

Most we carry is handcuffs, OC Spray, and an ASP baton.

Tonight's shift was interesting.

Originally, the call was: "5 girls need a picture of an officer". By law, we have to go to each call, so we went. As soon as we stepped out of our patrol cars, camera flashes went off.

Once we approached them asking what the problem was, they all wreaked of alcohol. Ran their names, and they were all underage.

277 dollar fine for each, as well as an alcohol class they must attend (which they also have to pay for).

Don't drink and...be stupid.


In a nutshell: I busted 15 girls for underage alcohol consumption.

Last night around 2 AM we had two freshmans door knocking and running around from dorm to dorm. After finally catching them at the library, they were drunk like no tomorrow!

Not sure how much my partner fined him, as once we caught him I went to the car to write call report.
