Interveiw with Vault - HydroIsland Owner
Can you give us a brief introduction about who you are, your community, and your position there?
The community I work for is Hydro Island (HydroIsland.com). I am 15 years old and I am very proud of our achievements thus far. My position is a bit universal as I deal with the artists, coders, and staff. We do have set positions but, right now with it being a bit hectic everyone fills their area.
Favorite foods? Movies? TV shows?
My favorite food has to be Pasta. Tokyo Drift is my favorite movie by far. I do not watch much TV but right now I would say Psych is a great show.
What would you consider your MMOCC's accomplishments up to this point?
We have accomplished a lot in the time we have been open. Alot behind the scenes but soon to be revealed.
Any failures your chatting community has faced?
Yes, Our first layout we released was mocked by another respected user accusing it had been copied from Keko City. Still to this day I do not think it does but our new interface will be much better by far.
How would you describe the community aspect of HydroIsland?
The community right now is a bit inactive but I do not blame them. Right now I am working on a few large things to spice things up.
How will HydroIsland stand out from all the other MMOCCs out there?
Hydro Island strives to have the most original concepts and ideas around. Our new web interface as mentioned will be a very good example of this. We also have many ideas stirring for our client, I also believe our art has it's own style.
Any advice to those wanting to start their own virtual chat?
I advise them to start the project before release. Website, forum open (if any), and some images to show. Just remember originality is the key to success.
Where do you see the MMOCC market in ten years?
I see a very revolutionized yet cramped market. Although I think there will be a small group that will out stand the others there will always be new ones forming, succeeding, and failing.
Where do you see HydroIsland in ten years?
I see a nice office in New York city with a big leather chair with my name on the desk.
What does the future hold for Mr. Vault?
My future holds a nice new Civic and a trade school.
