Interview with Inter - Hoybe Project Director

Ok I wanted to Interview Inter cause he is fresh and I hope to interivew him again in a few months... if his MMOCC is still running and I want to see what his feelings are on the market and the competition.

Here's his interview.

Can you give us a brief introduction about who you are, your community, and your position there?

Well, I'm Inter, my MMOCC is Hoybe and my position there is the owner. Basically I sit about and boss people around, haha. Na, I dont I'm a friendly person realy!

Favorite foods? Drinks? Movies? TV shows?

Foods, well, I'm quite partial to a bit Mac Cheese (has to be home made) or pizza! Personally, I like a wee bit Dr. Pepper I absolutely LOVE the Truman Show, its a brilliant movie! Lost is a great TV show, I'm totally addicted, cant get enough

What would you consider your MMOCC's accomplishments up to this point?

Haha, we have no accomplishments what so ever! Well, except the fact we have a nice wee site and are currently running phpBB3 BETA version (I'd reccomend it for any MMOCC), site designed by yours truely

Any failures your chatting community has faced?

Not really, nothing as of yet Hopefully wont get any *touch wood*

What led you to create Hoybe?

Well, one day I came across MMOCCForum and decided that instead of applying for various jobs in different communities, I'd create my own one!

What is your opinion on fan sites? Some tend to release classified information/graphics in order to promote themselves and gain traffic to their website. How will Hoybe deal with these types of sites?

Any fansites that obtain unreleased Hoybe material will be delt with severely as they will be in breach of copyright and we can sue.

Hoybe is a relatively new developing MMOCC, what are your plans to create a higher user base and grab new members to your community?

Ah, thats top secret

What stage is Hoybe at now in the developing process?

We are very early on, currently, I am looking at companies to design the client, once I find one that suits our needs, I'll ask them to do the job!

How will Hoybe stand out from all the other MMOCCs out there?

Well for a start we will most likely be in Flash, although a Director built client is still an option, so that will be a feature, we have other aims though, nothing is being revealed at this early stage!

There have been a large amount of hopeful chats starting - which many end up failing. How will Hoybe try to avoid this stereotype of new MMOCCs failing within the first couple months? Will there be public previews of development graphic and programming wise? Anything we should look forward to?

Well, we wont be failing, I can assure you of that, you need a strong financial backing and a good managment team to survive, which we have, so we'll succeed, no worries! You can look forward to some graphic previews within the next few months along with various competitions! So stay tuned

Any MMOCCs you regularly visit other than Hoybe?

I have been keeping an eye on a few, mainly for marketing purposes though

How would you describe your moderation style?

My personal one? I like to listen to the users, take in all points of view, then take action, I am not frightened to say when I was wrong and lift bans, etc. All this was gained through being a trained moderator though Sorry kids, cant tell you where I was a mod at though

Tell us something we don't already know about you.

I'm Scottish

If you were to add one feature to any MMOCC, what would it be? Why?

I would add in-client games, like pacman and such, just for my personal enjoyment

Any advice to those wanting to start their own virtual chat?

Get a strong backing and make sure you have a solid business plan!

Where do you see the MMOCC market in ten years?

Probably in VR ;o!

Where do you see Hoybe in ten years?

Lets take one day at a time

What does the future hold for Inter?

Hopefully a big house and that 103" TV
