Interview with Maneq - Lime City Founder

Can you give us a brief introduction about who you are, your community, and your position there?

Hello, my name is Maneq and I am one of the founders at Lime City. Myself and Overload are trying to build a friendly environment where teenagers may come online and meet others. The community at the moment is VERY loyal and is very excited as BETA is close.

Favorite foods? Drinks? Movies? TV shows? Songs?

My favorite food is fish and chips,
My favorite drink is tea
The movies I like at the moment are: White Chicks, James bond (most of them)
At the moment I like: Shake that laffy taffy – D41
TV Shows: Deal or no deal

What would you consider your MMOCC's accomplishments are up to this point?

I would consider the fact that we have reached over 140 members on our forum so we have many interested. Also we are reaching the end of coding the BETA, and I am so glad we have got this far.

Any failures your chatting community has faced?

Yes, as any other community there are people there willing to help, and others that are willing to cause trouble. Behavior problems has been a big one, and have very good counter moves to ensure people understand what they are doing wrong and addressing it correctly.

What led you to create Lime City? Where did you get the name from?

A lot of things made me determinated to create Lime City but a big one was Overload. We worked well together on another chat, and decided it was time to have a go at our own and from my point of view it is a living success. Lime City’s name was thought of in the early stages when it was all talk. It has a certain ring to it and so I and Overload decided to call it Lime City. We asked people and they also liked it.

What is your opinion on fan sites? Some tend to release classified information/graphics in order to promote themselves and gain traffic to their website. How will Lime City deal with these types of sites?

Lime City takes pride and joy for everyone willing to create a fan site. Today itself www.limeheaven.co.uk was broadcasted. The fan site is official. We have a strict confidential rule; it’s a need to know basics that people know anything. That way it eliminates who could have said anything to give classified information. But if one did find information we would ask to remove it, if they didn’t we would contact the web hoster as it’s a breach of our policy.

Wwhat are your plans to create a higher user base and grab new members to your community?

Well, we have found that word of mouth is an excellent way and this is where we have grown most of our population. At the moment we feel we don’t need to do any advertisement as we growing every day. We do have plans but nothing has been decided as this moment in time.

What stage is Lime City at now in the developing process?

Lime City is at BETA stage; BETA is not out yet but is expected soon. So look out for it!

How will Lime City stand out from all the other MMOCC’s out there?

Lime City is already standing out from the rest of the MMOCC’s because is appealing to a lot of people with skills that can help Lime City. We have originality and I don’t know at the moment if there is a chat that is named after a fruit ‘Lime’.

There have been a large amount of hopeful chats starting - which many end up failing. How will Lime City try to avoid this stereotype of new MMOCCs failing within the first couple months? Will there be public previews of development graphic and programming wise? Anything we should look forward to?

At the moment, we have an excellent feeling about Lime City. I and Overload have put a lot of work and money into Lime City, so with all ours steps Lime City should not fall into a stereotype. We also think that if we can make the customers (members) believe in what we do, we're half way there. Lime City has released 2 previews of rooms and new tools that they shall be shown on the game shortly. Also, there will be more previews are there will be 2+ public rooms at first BETA to look forward to.

What is your favorite MMOCC other than your own?

Oo a hard one, I think Jabba Town is for its sheer professionalism and loyal members.

How would you describe your moderation style?

I would describe our moderation style as forceful. We have full steps and training to make sure the public are fully equipped with anything they face once in the City. The moderation style is elaborate and fair.

Tell us something we don't already know about you.

I live in the lovely countryside & have 1 sister.

If you were to add one feature to any MMOCC, what would it be? Why?

Equality and fairness for every player VIP or not.

Any advice to those wanting to start their own virtual chat?

Yes defiantly. Think long and hard if you’re ready for such a big event happening in your life and that you can keep all the promises you make.

Where do you see the MMOCC’s market in ten years?

I see the market for MMOCC’s in 10 years spilling over, with the next generation having better technology and taking it to the next level.

Where do you see Lime City in ten years?

That’s a tough one, as I say to many who ask me futuristic questions I don’t know I can’t tell you the future but I would LIKE to think Lime City would become international and have offices in different countries.

What does the future hold for Mr. Maneq?

Here’s another futuristic question I hope to be settled down and to be running MMOCC’s and helping people create MMOCC’s with a stable job in ICT.
