Interview with Evo - TikeTown Founder/Co-Owner

Can you give us a brief introduction about who you are and your community?

My name is Evo (Evan) and I am part of the management team at tiketown.com. We are currently working on the development of a MMOC and expect our first beta shortly.

What would you consider your MMOCC's accomplishments up to this point?

As we prepare for the release of our first beta, I believe that we are truly developing an inclusive product, i.e. - a joint effort between what the users want and what we can give them.

Any failures your chatting community has faced?

Yes, we have had many problems along the way, especially with programmers. Because we hire our programming staff, it has often been the case that their views on acceptable work, has not come up to the standards that both we and our members expect and/or deserve.

How did you get your position in TikeTown?

I am one of the co-owners/founders of TikeTown.

How would you describe the community aspect of TikeTown?

TikeTown's community is a close-knit one. We pride ourselves on our friendly and welcoming atmosphere and I really believe that we have one of the most approachable and user friendly forums out there!

TikeTown has been opened for about a year now, how have things changed community and programming wise?

Community - always have and still do have a great atmosphere. Programming - made many errors along the way, some just down to poor jugement even, but after a lot of trial and error, we are finally on the right track and things couldn't be going better right now.

The beta release of TikeTown is expected to be coming soon! Can you give us information on some of the planned features on the beta version? How long the wait may be?

Our beta will feature at least 4 rooms for members to use and will have all the usual features: chat; navigation; avatar choices, etc and of course, there will also be a couple of surprises!!
The date - hoping for a firm release date shortly, again its in the hands of the programmers but I am sure that it won't be too long now.

How will TikeTown stand out from all the other MMOCCs out there?

Again, as I said earlier, its a combined effort. I know its easy to just spout this type of 'jargon' but we mean it as we realise we'd be nowhere without our members or our dedicated team of staff who do a magnificent job - all of this makes our community what it is today - friendly and welcoming and I am determined that we stay this way, even when we are ingame.

Any advice to those wanting to start their own virtual chat?

Lots of research to start with and an excellent team who you can trust is vital. Don't forget you'll need a fair bit of cash too!

Where do you see the MMOCC market in ten years?

Of course, there will be amazing progress made within the graphics and 3d field - who knows what we'll be capable of doing by then? Definitely more 'realistic' interactions.

Where do you see TikeTown in ten years?

We'll still be providing the friendliest place around! Of course we've got big plans for expansion but again, we want people to actually feel a part of our Town.

What does the future hold for Mr. Evo?

Mr Evo is looking forward initially to our first beta and beyond that i'm open to offers....
