I got this through ma mails only an hour ago because im signed up to their email list thingy so yehsss:

Quote:Hello Members!

Over the past couple months we have been slowly developing Port Galaxy. We had to overcome some issues, but I can now say that we are in full development and almost ready to release a beta version of the game. I have been working hard to promote Port Galaxy and set everything up so it will be ready for our launch. We have a Twitter page, Facebook page, and have advertised on other forums and websites. One of those sites was http://onRPG.com, which is a very well known MMO game site. We plan to do some further promotion as we get closer to the release date. We have set up our new website at http://www.portgalaxy.com and have a few previews of game content shown on the forum.

Now, more to the point of this update. We have an estimated release date! I am hoping to release a beta version of the game on or around March 20th, this month! My programmers and graphic designers are going to be working hard to achieve this goal. We ask that you check out the forum, create new topics, and invite your friends to participate in the upcoming release of Port Galaxy. Active forum members are going to get opportunities to be part of the Closed Beta testing, and other bonus activities. You may feel like just laying back and waiting for the release, but now is the time to become active!

We hope to see you, and your friends on (or around) March 20th!

From,
Riley

P.S - I say "or around March 20th" because it is hard to give accurate ETA's when it comes to game development, but we hope to release the game as soon as it is ready Happybracket

So looks like its coming out soon.
yays ColonD

your opinions pl0xxxx.
Thanks ColonP forgot to mention that.
Setting a date, what a fatal error.
^ Agreed at the above comment. Quawn did that a while ago, and still no release. Never set a date, you're just looking for criticism and failure (I dont mean failure as a project, but failure with regards to criticism etc.

Really isn't that big of a deal. I said on or around March 20th. Ive seen many developers give bad ETA's. I will try my best to have something released by then, and if that isnt enough time then 2012 may come early I guess.
There is no problem in setting up a date, as long as you follow it... Good luck there.

Only set a release date when you're at the point that you're ready for release.
Never set a date till you have a working product in your hands

WOW MATT GET LOST
calm down ladies.
if he believes his team can reach that target then you should be encouraging and not go "ohh itll never happen".

it shows ur lack off faith in the game when all Riley has come out with is good art and keeping us up to date with whats happening.

Yes it may not be the smartest thing to set a date before the thing has been finished but it gives us something to look forward to and also notifies us instead of telling us itll open tomorrow because its finished.

For all we know it could be near completion now and only take a few days work and then itd just be waiting untill 20th march.

So good luck Riley and PG team Happybracket

Both me and James are developers and we know what we're talking about. What we saying is 100% justified and backed up with experiences of our own.
